Mass intentions
Are you looking to have a Mass said for someone or for some intention? The archdiocese's Office for Mission Education and Animation offers Mass intentions on behalf of priests in developing countries. The donation is $5 for each Mass.
For priests in many developing countries Mass intentions are their only source of income. They not only use the funds for their needs, but often for the needs of people or projects in their parishes.
The office also offers enrollment in the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. An annual individual membership is available for a donation of $10 per year and an annual family membership is $20 per year. Enrollees are remembered in 15,000 Masses celebrated in mission countries each year and share in a daily Mass celebrated in Vatican City. These benefits continue in perpetuity.

Vatican passes first test against finance crimes
As the Vatican continues working to comply with international standards against money laundering and financing terrorism, it still needs to beef up internal inspection and supervisory powers, said a long-awaited report by European finance experts.
Overall, the Vatican met nine out of 16 "key and core" recommendations, thereby passing its first major test in an effort to become more financially transparent and compliant with international norms.
Tax exempt? Just try proving it through IRS system
It might seem like there's an electronic database for everything, but if someone is trying to prove the tax-exempt status of a nonprofit organization such as a religious charity or school, the process is substantially lower-tech and not necessarily easily searchable. On top of that, the system is fraught with potential pitfalls for organizations that try to maneuver through the regulations for the tax status known as 501(c)(3), such as in an effort to provide donors with full disclosure about their charitable status.
